RI National Guard has been set up to do testing at 3 sites in Rhode Island. We (the peasants) were told this is to pinpoint the areas of high concern. This means they will very likely start "quarantining" neighborhoods. That's kinda scary.
Our governess has closed beaches and state parks (non-state parks are wide open). She even banned fresh water fishing (our season started today). They close this stuff, yet there are still tons of people in supermarkets and Walmart??
I don't know what to think anymore. I'm fairly certain the government power isn't going to let up as quickly as it came down on us.
Well now we're at 28 days later. Most people who were infected at the beginning of April but didn't show symptoms should have shown them by now, which means that they should have been isolated from others, leading to a much better control over the virus.
I think that going forward, precautions will have to be in place, but this lockdown on a whole cannot continue. This is going to hit our nation hard economically for a long time the longer we stay under lockdown. I think the economic disaster that is looming may have a much bigger impact than the harm causes by the virus.

@donaldbaker SIP was lifted today in Georgia. I was just thinking today about what it be like had Stacey Abrams been elected governor and how long we would have been locked down under her "rule". I do suspect that Democrats realized they could use the pandemic as a means of amassing control, and if it ends up hurting the nation economically, it will just give them a rationale for instituting more socialist policies moving forward.
Democrats have shown that they don't let much of anything go to waste when they can use it for political gain. This is why I have a hard time believing that America will be one nation 50 years from now. The ideological divide is growing too far apart. I suspect that the left wants to control the office of POTUS soon not necessarily to govern, but to impose its will. Just wait.
I wonder how you can stand working in a field that is dominated by liberals. That's one of the reasons I chose not to pursue my PhD. I could never have thrived in such an environment. The University of Louisville is totally controlled by liberals and literally push the LGBTQ agenda down our throats. I'm a very tolerant man, but when my mind is made up on what I truly believe is right, no amount of indoctrinating is going to move me away from what I know is the truth.

Interesting as your comment was from back in April. Here we are, 8 months later, and liberal states are continuing to implement the most draconian rules.
