                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If the government is leading the way, then yes, I think digital currency is a threat.  Two reasons for this.  First, the entire purpose of digital currency is to bypass government control of the money supply and inflation that results from excessive government spending.  Second, governments will be able to easily track and control all transactions in digital format, allowing for the widespread oppression of people with ease. </p>
<p>Although I've tried to do some research, I still can't quite wrap my head around cryptocurrencies.  If the fed does push its own digital currency, would they somehow ban Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other unofficial currencies that compete?</p>]]></content:encoded>
