I'm not currently in the market for a new car, but I'm more and more impressed by videos of Tesla vehicles that I see on social media, especially those with Full Self Driving mode.  To me, FSD seems like the kind of game-changing technology that comes along less often than you'd think, and it changes the way we think about driving. For a parallel, when the cell phone became mainstream in the late 1990s, they revolutionized communication.  The next real revolution in the industry came around 2007 or 2008 when Apple released its first iPhone.  To me, all the other advancements in the cell phone world have been incremental by comparison.

With FSD, we're at one of those major revolutions in vehicles because it changes the consumer's relationship with the product.  I get it that people are afraid of the technology, and no doubt will blame it for deaths that will likely occur as a result of it, but you have to think that the 8 cameras they have are still vastly superior to the two eyes that a human driver uses.

Anyway, I'm intrigued, and I'd actually consider getting one in the future.

FORUM RULES

  • No posts that incite violence or promotes hatred will be tolerated. Critics of gun enthusiasts always try to paint us as violent xenophobic racists. Nothing of the kind will be found here.
  • Harassment of other members will result in a swift permanent ban. If you cannot be nice, your stay here will be short.
  • Spamming the board with mindless rants will not be allowed. If there is a need, a forum can be created for well articulated tirades. We support free speech, but there are better ways of going about it.
  • Inappropriate pictures or graphics will be removed. There are enough websites on the internet for that junk. LegacyArmory.com isn’t going to become one of them.
  • Soliciting services are to be confined to the classified ads forum. We will allow the promotion of other personal websites so long as they are not inappropriate or offensive to our membership. WE KNOW INAPPROPRIATE WHEN WE SEE IT.
