I guess the UFO / UAP phenomenon is now a mainstream topic.  We are living in interesting times.

A mainstream topic, but does it mean anything?  There's a guy whose blog I follow (he is/was part of a "skeptics" organization) and he had this to say about it:

We get more indistinct blobs, dots of light, blurry nothings, camera artifacts, and stories of people seeing dots of light. The Pentagon acknowledges – there is no evidence that any of these things are alien phenomena, but also that some of the blobs and lights have not been fully explained. So we are exactly where we have always been – there is no compelling or unambiguous evidence of aliens.

He goes on to reason that it's unlikely Trump is powerless to release any "juicy" files, or that he's trying to cover it up.  In other words, it's just that the government doesn't have evidence of alien life.

Oh, and I find it interesting that the entire JFK files thing went away, almost as if nothing happened.  All those files were classified for so many decade, only to be released a year or two ago...and nothing.  I never heard that there was anything of note that was in all those hidden files.  Did the U.S. government really want to protect uninteresting files all those years....or did they just to a selective dump while retaining the actually illuminating files about the assassination?

Yeah but you have congressmen who claimed to have been briefed on aliens and there are whistleblowers like David Grausch saying we have alien tech and nonhuman biologics in custody.  Also Lara Trump says Trump was briefed as well and has a disclosure speech ready to be given soon.  All of this could be a distraction to steer our attention away from Epstein and the Iran War that isn't going quite as planned.

I hadn't heard that Trump had a "disclosure speech" ready, so that is interesting. Still, I get the feeling that Trump or his administration understands the value of throwing some red meat around to titillate the base.  Remember the worthless Epstein binders that were given away to "influencers"? What was the point other than spectacle?  And what about when Trump actually called the Epstein thing a "hoax"?

So yes, I've become dismayed with Trump over time.  I still like him, but there are times when the mask concealing his ridiculousness comes off.  And honestly, I might be more upset by the people who support Trump blindly - regardless of what he does or says - than by Trump himself.  No intellectually honest person should agree with a politician 100% of the time, even when he does or says bad things.  I would think everyone would know this.

I like Trump but I am off the Trump train.  He is compromised by the deep state lobby and chasing a legacy that involves revenge against his enemies.
