I think it's got to be either Warren or Biden.  I don't see any of the others really having much of a shot.  Bernie is never going to win the nomination, and when he bows out most of his support will sway to Warren, which will put her above Biden.  I think Biden had a chance on paper, but he falters too much when he's actually speaking.  Plus, he doesn't excite the base quite like Warren does (or as Trump does for the right). 

Will be interesting to see whether the other candidates go after Biden on the Ukraine stuff in the next few debates.  My feeling tells me that someone will since a) it's his weakest point, and b) true leftists should hypothetically enjoy it when a politician gets nailed for getting gobs of money under suspicious circumstances.

I agree about Warren.  She is the candidate with the most momentum now.

Biden appears to have some momentum left himself.  I bet Hillary tries to jump in at some point.

I think as Biden falters, Warren will keep rising, and will get a surge once Bernie drops out of the race.  At that point, I could see Hillary emerging as the so-called "centrist" candidate who contrasts with both the far-left Warren and Trump.

The problem with Clinton is that she's just so unlikeable right now that she would never be able to get any momentum.  Would independents who voted for her in 2016 feel glad about voting for her again?  At least with Trump we know what we're getting, and his handling of the economy has proven to be effective.  This may not turn out very well for the Dems.

I think that progressive Democrats are really only successful in one of two situations: in really leftist areas of the country, and in non-leftist areas when they govern further to the right than they want.  It's possible that 2020 may expose the ideological failure of the left unlike ever before.

If Warren wins the nomination, the party will make her campaign more to the center. 

Well it looks like we can take Kamala Harris off the poll.  She is officially dropping out.  She never had a snowball's chance anyway.  However, Bloomberg joining in the race might make things more interesting.

A month ago I thought Warren was about to pull away with it, but now it's not looking quite like that.  Buttigieg has been climbing but wow would he be bad news for our nation.  Meanwhile, the more we hear from Biden, the crazier he seems.  I wonder whether the Dems will be able to field a winnable candidate after all.  It seems that the party is undergoing a shift under the radar that few people are talking about.  Their leftwing push has really accelerated over the past few years and has forced their candidates to adopt ridiculous positions that play well to the base but just seem kind of loopy to the centrist citizen.

I still think Warren will win.  Unless Bloomberg or Hillary makes a big splash.

So we may end up being wrong on Warren. Warren Support Nosedives
